I can't remember much in the way of details, but here goes. I'm pretty sure it was a decently long casefic, probably Shassie (just starting at the end, I think) and I get the feeling it involves a cabin by a lake and a body in a boat, though I might be mixing it up with another. I think Henry was involved, too. I read it a few months ago, so a lot of it's foggy. I thought it was probably on fanfiction.net, but I've been sifting through that site for the past few hours with no luck. :(
What really made it interesting was that the case (or something) took them into Det. Lucinda Barry's new juristiction and her characterization--and that of the relationship between her and Lassiter--was just Awesome. The ex-lovers were sitting down (in a diner?) and talking over what's been going on, touching on his ex-wife, his new partner, and there was this undercurrent of submissiveness and eager-to-please from Lassiter that was just so well done that it was instant headcanon. That conversation wasn't a super-major plot point, but I remember loving how comfortably she handled having that control.
Sorry if that's all too vague, but I remember that conversation as feelings and it's driving me mad not to have the words to go with.
Thanks!
